A rainbow tribe jam session

Baynana Collective

Baynana is a collective of musicians, artists and performers from different parts of the world, living in the Netherlands. Music is what brings them here and through music they connect. In this connection they investigate the sounds of the other and their (shared) values. They learn from each other and become one in this moment.

We invite you to the Generation house to experience this strong and powerful energy we are going build together.

A big part of the collective exists of musicians from Syria and other
countries in the Middle East.  With this
project we want to show people that these young, talented and beautiful persons
are more then fled people from oppressed countries in war. We are part of a
movement that is changing the existing narrative.

Basic introduction workshop (interactive lecture) in permaculture

Maranke Spoor

The word permaculture comes from permanent (sustainable) culture/agriculture. Permaculture is a multidisciplinairy design science based in ethics. The goal of permaculture is: meeting our human needs while increasing ecosystem health. Three ethical principles help us achieve this goal: earth care, people care, fair shares. Permaculture also works with design principles that are based on patterns observed in nature.

Closing The Loop

Fedde Jorritsma

In this interactive lecture we will design, demonstrate and talk about how to close the loop of pee, poo and greywater. What are the options and how can you apply them for your situation? For 7 years I worked in Central Asia on low-tech solutions for sustainable living. Afterwards I cycled about 12000 km around the world and gave many workshops in communities. Back in the Netherlands I founded LocalWise. LocalWise helps to realize ideas for local water, sanitation and energy facilities: design, advice, courses and project guidance.

Colibry Messengers from Colombia

Inspirational Talk

During The Living Village Festival 4 medicinemen from different traditions from Colombia come to share the message that is passed on by the indigenous people about the earth.

They are guardians of the land, water, and feel the importance to share this so we can connect and awake this wisdom that is inside all of us.

We bring one message from an elder from the Muyska tribe, Jate Kulchevita. Who is guiding in the spiral school, many people by his words and presence in talking circels (mambeadero) back to their essence. The origin. To the seed that we are, all with one unique design. Weaving a web of connections in and outside ourselves to go fully on our mission here on mother earth."

CuriouslyWise – Parenting by Nature

Saskia op de Weegh

How can we as parents, teachers, provide our children a context in which they can follow their own true nature? How can we support them to explore their own world and follow their curiosity? How can we hold space for them to grow up themselves, to have their own experiences and to find their own truth? And how can we as parents connect with our true nature again and follow our curiosity? In this interactive lecture I share what I discovered the past 6 years and show fragments of two films I made about it.

Deep Ecology

Monique Wijn van De Godin - Eetbaar Landschap

Deep ecology is an ecological and environmental philosophy promoting the inherent worth of living beings regardless of their instrumental utility to human needs, plus a radical restructuring of modern human societies in accordance with such ideas. In the workshop we will experience our deep connection with life and all living beings and how this affects our emotions and well being. It can give us a deep gratitude towards life and empower us to take steps in becoming active. Deep ecology is developed by Joanna Macy, being an environmentalist and strongly influenced by Buddhism.

Deep Ecology

Boris Meurs

There is one concept that I deem of the greatest importance in the coming epoch: "nature". As a philosopher, I attempt to come to terms with this nettlesome concept through open dialogue with others, genealogical study of the concept and thinking about its future in a world under the sway of industrialization.

Discussion on the challenges we face while changing our way of living

Irene van Gent

In this interactive session we talk about the changes we want to make in the world and what challenges come with them. I am researching a subject for a new book, about why do we live the way we do and how can we live in a different way. As pioneers we know how we want to make a difference, but the world or the systems are not always ready to change with us. How do we coop with this and what would we like to change. In one hour we start with an overview of this subject, during the following days we can explore and exchange thoughts further.

Holistic Pregnancy and Birth

Antje Martje Bakker

As a holistic Midwife I facilitate women, men and babies to experience and create their personal and unique path in preganacy, birth and life. In one of the most opening, pure, magical and raw periods of our lives growth of consiousness and healing is what wants to happen. In which body, mind, soul and spirituality are all connected and manifested. I wish to create a safe space, free of any type of judgements, to share about my vision on/ experience in this sacred period, but especially in wich also is enough space to exchange birth experiences. What do you know about your own birth, about the energy in your parents and the environment when you were implanting and growing in the womb, when you were born? Do you realise how much this effects you in your life, and how much potential this awareness gives you to heal? How did you experience giving birth? Did you feel safe and was it an empowering experience, or felt lost and taken over? All was the perfect thing to happen on your path, ment to surve you. Let's put all our stories in the light. Become aware.

Seed: The Untold Story

Directed and Produced by Taggart Siegel & Jon Betz

Few things on Earth are as miraculous and vital as seeds. Worshipped and treasured since the dawn of humankind. SEED: The Untold Story follows passionate seed keepers protecting our 12,000 year-old food legacy. In the last century, 94% of our seed varieties have disappeared. As biotech chemical companies control the majority of our seeds, farmers, scientists, lawyers, and indigenous seed keepers fight a David and Goliath battle to defend the future of our food. In a harrowing and heartening story, these reluctant heroes rekindle a lost connection to our most treasured resource and revive a culture connected to seeds. Not only as human beings together, but also with animals, plants and trees, in fact: with Mother Earth and with nature as a whole.

The magic of following your own path

Saskia op de Weegh

"How do we create the new world we are longing for, for ourselves and our
society? How do you take steps into a unknown world. How do you takes
steps on to your own path and let it unfold itself at the same time?

The past years I followed my curiosity exploring this by going on a
‘book-adventure’. I made the book ‘Nieuwe paden banen’ (in Dutch) by
interviewing pioneers and by exploring and photographing new paths in
nature.
In this workshop I share what I discovered and we experiment
with following our own paths by taking steps and let the path unfold
itself at the same time. We also explore what your adventure is at this
moment."
